Two people read
an early version of the manuscript. Thelma Precé, a convert to the Church
of only a few months, was in the midst of crossing the bridge from
Biblical Christianity to the Restored Gospel. As she read the manuscript,
she shared her feelings about the book. John Butler, a missionary in the
Massachusetts Boston Mission, shared his perspective as a teacher of the
Gospel and made many suggestions for improvement of the manuscript. I am
grateful to both of them for their encouragement that I complete the book.
After Elder Butler was transferred to a new area, a friend of mine, Dave
Hansen, acted as a courier between us, allowing Elder Butler to finish
reading the manuscript. Thanks Dave!
My family
allowed me to spend many hours preparing the manuscript, and I appreciate
their willingness to be "author-widows" while I finished the
book.
