Christina Farhart, associate professor of political science, and Ethan Struby, assistant professor of economics, co-published a paper titled, “Inflation Expectations and Political Polarization: Evidence From the Cooperative Election Study” that was voted best paper (out of 27 presented) at the 2024 Liberal Arts Macroeconomics Conference. It was also presented earlier in the summer at the Western Economics Association meetings. They were also both quoted in a related Newsweek article on the partisan divide in voters’ perceptions about the US economy.
