Sarah graduated from Carleton in 1993 (political science major, Russian studies concentration) and credits the Career Center for her first job (Environmental Protection Agency Region V, Office of Regional Counsel). She has a depth of experience in non-profit management and fundraising, and served organizations focusing on the environment, early childhood education, and faith-based community building prior to returning to Carleton. Sarah served as Carleton’s director of stewardship from 2006 to 2012, overseeing donor relations and supporting development initiatives. From 2012 to 2018, Sarah served as director of alumni relations, providing strategic direction for Carleton’s alumni engagement efforts. Beginning in 2018, Sarah established a new office of milestone reunions drive engagement and giving around these landmark anniversaries. She assumed responsibility for all of Carleton’s development programs in 2025 and oversees major gifts, planned giving, and the 25th and 50th milestone reunion programs. Sarah has a M.A. from the University of Minnesota Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs and is the proud parent of two Carls.
