Dr. Rebecca Brückmann, Associate Professor of History, has been appointed an ACM Academic Leadership Fellow for 2025-2027.
The Associated Colleges of the Midwest selected 10 fellows from among its 14 partner colleges who are tenured Humanities faculty with demonstrated leadership capabilities, commitments to diversity and inclusive equity, and the potential for a transformative impact at their institution.
Each fellow will lead a discrete portfolio of responsibilities or projects identified by their college’s senior leadership team. Also during the fellowship, ACM will offer cohort-based leadership development workshops and convenings to build leadership capacities and community.
As part of her fellowship responsibilities, Brückmann will lead two discrete projects. One will explore an expansion of interdisciplinary collaboration among Carleton programs that study racialization, ethnicity, and intersectionality; in the second, she will collaborate with Associate Provost Yansi Pérez to improve the College’s retention action plan for historically underrepresented faculty.
The ACM Academic Leadership Fellows are made possible by a $1.16 million grant from the Mellon Foundation.
