On Monday, April 7, Carleton’s International Film Forum will show TAKE ME TO FENDIKA at 7:00 p.m. in the Weitz Center Cinema. Director Cisco Bradley will be on hand for a discussion of the film after the screening.
Take Me to Fendika is a film about music, dance, art space, and community in Ethiopia, focusing on the work of world-renowned dancer, Melaku Belay and the art space, Fendika, in Addis Ababa.
The film was a collaboration with Ethiopian and African diaspora musicians, artists, and filmmakers in Africa, Europe, and the U.S. The film had its world premiere at the 2nd African Cultural Film Festival in October, where it won the best documentary award.
