Three Carleton students selected for 2025 Watson Fellowships: Mitch Porter, Jonah Docter-Loeb, and Victoria Semmelhack

Three seniors will be traveling the world after graduation as 2025 Thomas J. Watson Fellows. Mitch Porter ’25 will visit areas facing environmental threats, including Jakarta, Borneo, and Greenland, to investigate environmental memory and the ways communities respond to ecological change. Jonah Docter-Loeb ’25 will continue a passion project, traveling to Norway, Britain, Canada, Chile, and Argentina to understand how humans and beavers interact. And Victoria Semmelhack ’25 will go to Ghana, India, Australia, and Norway to explore childbirth knowledge and maternal healthcare policy.
